Shyama Parikh

I am a first-generation Indian American born in Illinois to parents who immigrated to the USA in the 70's and who sacrificed their education and comfort to create a good life for their children. I grew up in Bloomington Normal, IL and Milwaukee, WI before attending DePaul University and DePaul College of Law in Chicago, IL. I came to Lake County, IL in 2002 to begin my legal career and have made it my home for the past 24 years. I always knew I wanted to practice Family Law and have held the title of Attorney, Guardian ad Litem, Child Representative, Mediator as well as Parenting Coordinator. I also serve on the Arbitration Panel in Lake County, IL and work as a contract Mediator with the Lake County courts to assist under a grant it receives for never married parents.

I am very active in the community, both legal and otherwise, as you will see below. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with me as well as a large network of individuals I have met throughout my life to assist me in my work with clients. I became a lawyer to help serve members of the community, to the best of my ability. I will listen to you, educate you, offer you options, answer your questions and competently represent you. The legal system does not have to be scary and complicated and I look forward to providing you with not only a great result, but a pleasant experience.
